Introducing the Professional Team of the PLS Department (2)
22. června 2021
Jana Blažíčková is now in her third year working at EUC PLS. She majored in art therapy (a projective psychotherapeutic method) at the department of psychology at the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice. Jana began her career in Australia as a consultant/sales representative in education. After that, she travelled and lived in Central and South America for several years where she taught English and studied Spanish and Portuguese. After her return to the Czech Republic, she worked in sales positions, interacting mainly with foreign clients and organising the process of clients arriving to undergo medical procedures in the Czech Republic.
Jana’s life motto is: “Be the change you want to see in the world.” – Mahatma Gandhi.
After the birth of her children and end of maternity leave, she wanted to work in event management. EUC PLS had opened a position for a Superior Care Organiser at the time. In this role, Jana was able to fulfil her goal of working with directly people in conjunction with organisational work. At the time, the company was creating Health Days as a separate product outside the Sales Department’s product portfolio. Health Days are the responsibility of the Occupational Health Services under the Department for the Network of Contract Physicians.
Jana’s life motto is: “Be the change you want to see in the world.” – Mahatma Gandhi.
In her personal life, she pursues spiritual practice, yoga, herbs and aromatherapy. She enjoys Latin American dance and fine arts and loves travelling and learning about new cultures. Balance and care of the individual areas of her life (motherhood, marriage, friendships, profession, opportunity for personal development) are very important to her, and she believes that satisfying needs in each of these spheres allow a person to live in harmony and joy. Her work at EUC PLS allows her to fulfil each of these roles to the fullest extent.
What are the responsibilities of a Superior Care Organiser?
A Superior Care Organiser organises the Health Days and related agenda. Through my colleagues in the sales department, I receive the client’s request to organise a Health Day. This may involve performing various types of examination, such as a dermatological and eye checks, blood drop tests, EMG, which is a procedure to assess the health of the musculoskeletal system and its nerve fibres, and other procedures. The client may also be interested in organising educational and preventive lectures on a topic, for example, psychology, ergonomics, first aid training, and so on. The first thing we discuss with a client are the client’s needs, or more precisely, the needs of the client’s employees. We then create a programme based on an assessment of these needs. A Health Day may take a day or even a week at a single facility or at multiple facilities of the client. Naturally, we also provide English speaking staff. We always try to adjust to the client’s expectations and reality as much as possible, while also obliging the client as much as possible so that they are satisfied and contact us again in the future. In formal terms, I’m responsible for ordering the services of our partners who perform the specific examinations for us. It is an experienced team of people who, as a general rule, have collaborated with us for quite some time.
When organising a Health Day, the formalities are very important; therefore, it’s also necessary to get permission from government authorities to hold the event.
How did you go about the Health Days during Covid?
The single constant in the world is change itself, so we simply adapted, just like everyone else. We transitioned to online training in the form of webinars. This also increased tour range of topics, because it wasn’t possible to do “face to face” examinations under the social contact restrictions. Consequently, we expanded the product portfolio of lectures and offered clients an online format.
What is your vision for Health Days?
I would like to make sure that we keep evolving and adapting to the times. There is no turning back now. This means we will certainly have implementation teams at our disposal who can visit the client for Health Days, but we will also offer online education of clients in the form of webinars.
